Medical Student Travel Award


To invite and enable medical students interested in military psychiatry the opportunity to receive travel assistance to attend an upcoming American Psychiatric Association (APA)'s Annual Meeting. This award is bestowed to a medical student based on their accomplishments during medical school and a demonstrated interest in practicing Psychiatry in the military.

Eligibility

  • Must be enrolled full time and be in good standing in a medical school (MD/DO) located in the United States.
  • Must be a medical student member of the APA (non-members apply when submitting materials for this travel award).
  • Must be able to attend the Annual SUSP Meeting (held 1 day prior to the start of the APA Annual Meeting).

Submission Process

Apply below through the form. Note that there are several documents that must be uploaded. Please only submit this form once when you have all the following documentation ready as a PDF.

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Statement of Interest (not to exceed one-page)
  • Letter from your medical school confirming that you are a medical student in good academic standing at their institution who is approved to attend SUSP's Annual Meeting should you receive the award.
  • [OPTIONAL] If you are presenting at the APA, please load a copy of your abstract.


Deadlines


All travel award submissions must be received no later than 1 MAR to be considered for the Annual APA meeting in May. The applications are now open.
